Looking for a bite of melt-in-your-mouth delicious? This salted caramel chocolate chip cookie recipe is the perfect solution.
Years ago, I lived in a neighborhood that had a weekly summer get together called “Cookies on the Lawn.” Each Sunday evening, one family in the neighborhood would play host (setting up folding tables and providing a simple drink), while attending families would bring a dozen cookies to share. The location would rotate each week to a different house in the neighborhood.
Sometimes families bought store bought cookies, sometimes they were homemade. It didn’t really matter, the point was bringing people together for a bit of chit chat. I enjoyed the chance to make a fresh batch of cookies each week and I wish I would have had this salted caramel chocolate chip cookie recipe at the time.
I didn’t get a chance a batch Cookies on the Lawn, but I did take a couple dozen over to a neighborhood barbecue recently. I was happy not only to watch one of the pickiest eaters on the street go back for at least half-dozen cookies, but also to collect an empty plate at the end of the event. Yay!
Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
When salted caramel first became “a thing,” I was a bit skeptical, but it has become one of my favorite flavors! The hallmark ingredient for these perfectly baked, yummy cookies is a bag of salted caramel chips (I used the Hersey’s brand) mixed with semi-sweet chocolate.
I’d love to make up a batch and freeze them for those moments when I absolutely need a delicious treat, but I love the flavor so much I can’t leave them alone. In any event, these cookies are best served slightly warm, when the chips are a bit gooey.
