Stop what you’re doing, grab a sweet drink and come check out all of the fun patriotic touches in this summer home tour!
I cannot tell a lie. The house is not 100% ready for summer.
It should be were well into the second week of June. The temperatures are typically soaring this time of year and I am firmly planted by the side of the pool. Instead we’ve had snow in the last month. As a result, I’ve been a bit slow to transition.
I can tell you that my “internet famous” porch (see here, here and here for designs that have gone viral) is undergoing a HUGE transformation. One that’s just about complete!
The entryway will remain neutral, but it too is getting a few new pieces, including a pretty jute rug that just came today!
Summer Home Tour
At this point you might be wondering…what have you actually finished for summer? Well, there are a few nooks and crannies in each room that I am excited to share with you as a part of a summer home tour hop!
You can find links to inspiration for all of these amazing summer home tours at the bottom of my post!
Summer in the Kitchen and Dining Room
Well my friends, navy and yellow have taken over my otherwise neutral kitchen and dining room space.
You might remember the cheery wreath I shared a few weeks ago as part of Krista’s Seasonal Simplicity series? I finally took down the letterboard that’s been hanging on the pantry for THREE YEARS (?!) and replaced it with my pretty lemon wreath.
You can grab the full DIY tutorial for this simple, inexpensive wreath, here.
Are dish towels decor? I definitely use them to convey the season in my home. I purchased these sweet Kate Spade dish towels. They match the rest of my decor perfectly!
Normally I wouldn’t splurge on a piece like this (they’re regularly $24+), but I purchased them at Home Goods for a steal!
Over in the dining room, I’ve pulled out the summer dishes. Lots of lemon yellow and navy blue.
The dining room opens up to my patio and the dish-ware I store here in the summer is all melamine pieces from Pottery Barn that can be used outside. I love that it looks just as good on display as some of my china.
Summer in the Family Room
My living space is actually a big, open area. The kitchen and dining room open up into the family room. I will spare you the photos of the big ass tv (very technical term) that’s on one of the walls and share the sweet nautical decor I have up on the mantel.
My favorite pieces are probably the new nautical Fourth of July print I created for this year and the ticker tape style Fourth of July garland.
You can see all of this fun patriotic mantel here.
I also have a few fun pillows and throws out on the furniture in the room to pull it all together.
Summer in the Master Bedroom
The final finished space is actually my master bedroom. I know. Most people barely touch their master. The thing is, I am a newly engaged girl. That master was first on my list! Ha!
I really just freshened up the already (mostly) navy room with a few colorful bed linens and some nautical touches.
I will keep you posted on the porch (it’s pretty fabulous) and will share some images of the backyard in the coming weeks. It’s finally growing in!
Thanks for joining me on my summer home tour!
