This pretty little succulent with its foil tag makes for great Fourth of July decor, but it’s also the perfect Fourth of July hostess gift if you’re going to a party!
This time of year we attend a lot of gatherings with friends and family. While it’s typically a more casual affair, I hate to arrive without more than a bag of chips.
Succulents are sooo popular right now and they make the perfect gift when styled. Today I am going to show you how to create this sweet Fourth of July hostess gift in under 10 minutes. Short, fast projects are always best, right?!
Fourth of July Hostess Gift
There really isn’t much to this simple little gift – a baby food jar, a small succulent, a bit of ribbon and a printable tag. Most of these items I had on hand so my only cost was the $3.50 I spent on the plant at Home Depot.
Pulling this little gift together is easy as pie. Easier actually.
Simply remove the plant from the plastic container. Loosen the dirt around the plant’s roots up, allowing the extra dirt to fall into your baby food jar.
Add your plant to the jar and backfill with a bit more dirt and/or small stones for aeration.
It looks pretty cute already, but I like to pretty this little plant up with a festive ribbon.
After adding the ribbon to the baby food jar, I added a small Fourth of July printable thank you tag on a stick.
By placing the tag on the stick, it’s easy to pull right out and remove so that the succulent can be used as a part of regular household decor.
What’s great is that this is such a simple activity, you could involve your kids too!
Note: I foiled the printable tag to make it a little extra special. It’s a little hard to see in some of the photos, but you can get a glimpse of the foily goodness here…
Hop on over and pick up the printable if you’d like to make a tag of your own. There’s so many ways you can use them…
