Yarn Halloween Bat Wreath
I have a habit of ignoring many trends. The fact that everyone is doing something can be a big turn off for me, so by the time I act on a trend it’s often no longer a trend. Do you ever feel like that? Enter the yarn wreath. I’ve seen so many cute ones…I’ve even pinned a few to my… Read More
DIY Cloche {Halloween Display}
Today I am sharing a fun DIY Halloween Cloche. This project couldn’t be any easier…seriously you can find these vintage cheese trays at any local thrift shop. I see them all the time. Usually at a price point of $1.50 – $6. Most times I have seen them with the glass dome. If you happen to see one grab it!… Read More
DIY West Elm Style Bubble Air Plants
I’ve started trimming back a lot of my outdoor plants for fall. Though I love this time of year, I do get a little sad clearing out the fading flowers from my deck and getting the planters ready for winter storage. I am especially sensitive because there is a real lack of light, and plants, in my main living space…The situation… Read More

How to Pick the Perfect Entryway Rug
Choosing a rug is one of the most difficult design decisions I’ve made in my house. Selecting flooring? No problem. Choosing paint colors? No big deal. Choosing a rug, even a small 2×3 for the entryway? Nearly impossible. Anyone else have this problem? In the summer I’ve resorted to using bamboo rugs in both the front entry and near the door out… Read More
Lace Front Blouse from Men’s Dress Shirt {Tutorial}
*Tutorial by Autumn @ It’s Always Autumn for the Refashion Challenge of season 13*

Hi! It’s Autumn here, from It’s Always Autumn, with a tutorial for the lace front blouse I made out of a men’s button down shirt. (Check my blog for the slacks to skirt tutorial.) In the photo above you can see the finished refashion, and below you can see the before:

Just a fairly normal, cream colored men’s dress shirt. It wasn’t huge, just a little roomy on me, so I ended up using just about every scrap of fabric in my refashion.

Best WordPress Plugins for Bloggers
One of the best things about WordPress is the opportunity it provides for fairly easy customization. Don’t believe me? Here’s the theme my site operates on in its standard form… Here’s my site: Big difference, right?! Amy obviously worked wonders with the framework (thank heaven for a great site designer), but much of the customization and preferences on individual pages… Read More
How to Remove Wallpaper
In an old house, you’re bound to run into wallpaper in at least a few of the rooms. In my grandma’s house, there’s wallpaper in almost all of the rooms – generally multiple layers. As we’ve de-papered several area’s now, I thought I would share the tips and tricks that have been picked up along the way… I love this… Read More
Baby Food Jar Pumpkins
It seems like I always have a need for little gifts and items to share…It’s lead me to pick up little items here and there that can be up-cycled into a small goodie. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t resist the Target “dollar” area and I have a whole “gift” closet (please tell me I am not the… Read More
Pretty packaging for your tasty treats {Tutorial}
*Tutorial by Autumn @ It’s Always Autumn for her win of the Stash Busting challenge of season 13*
Hi everyone! I’m Autumn, from It’s Always Autumn, here to share a tutorial for the pretty packaging boxes made from scrapbook paper. These boxes come together really quickly but look tidy and professional, making them the perfect way to dress up your tasty treats. Note: I recommend lining all of the boxes with wax paper or additional cupcake liners before adding your treats so you don’t end up with grease spots on your boxes. When using the cookie bag, I place cookies in a sandwich bag first, then inside the paper bag. (By the way – I actually created two crafts for this week because I wasn’t sure which one I wanted to use in the competition – if you’d like to see the other way I used up some of my paper stash, click here!)

Snow White & the Huntsman & Candy Apple Recipe
There was one film I was dying to see in the theaters this year that I didn’t get to see – Snow White and the Huntsman. It looked like the perfect blend of fierce chick and fantasy. The movie is now available for purchase on Blue-Ray/DVD and I couldn’t resist a little viewing party… To mark the celebration, I made a fun… Read More

Mozzarella Melon Fruit Salad Recipe
The boys eat watermelon like nothing else, so when we’re having a summertime celebration I always try to pick one up. The other day when I went to purchase food for our annual gathering to celebrate the start of the football season, there weren’t any small-to-medium sized watermelon in sight. I purchased the smallest of the melons on hand and… Read More
Chocolate Covered Football Oreo Pops
A couple of things mark the end of summer and the beginning of fall around our house (and I’m sure many of yours too), one of them is football. Whether it’s football for the kids, in-state college rivalries, or even pro-football on Monday nights, it definitely signals a change in seasons here. I don’t know what it is, but I’m… Read More
Arts and Crafts Mirror Tutorial
*Tutorial by Erin @ Erin’s Creative Energy for her win of Season 12*
I am very honored to be sharing my Arts and Crafts Style Mirror tutorial for everyone.
This is going to be a VERY LONG tutorial. Even though it only took me 4 days to complete, in all reality, this should have taken at least two weeks. So don’t get discouraged with time, the end result is completely worth it.
Also, before attempting any of this tutorial, please know how to properly use all the tools and equipment to avoid injury. There is nothing more important than your safety.
The first thing I did was cut my FREE mirror. Gotta love friends that inform you of trash on the side of the road. The mirror was broken (a very large broken mirror) that was put out for trash. I used it and cut it down to size…twice. The first time it broke, so I had to adjust my entire design plan.
You will need a glass scoring tool, cutting oil and running pliers. All shown above.
