Today I am sharing a fun DIY Halloween Cloche. This project couldn’t be any easier…seriously you can find these vintage cheese trays at any local thrift shop. I see them all the time. Usually at a price point of $1.50 – $6. Most times I have seen them with the glass dome. If you happen to see one grab it! They look similar to this one I found on Etsy.
I have had the cheese tray and glass dome for about a year, I previously spray painted it black and had it out for a display last year..but didn’t love it. It needed something.
While shopping at my local grocery store {Fry’s Marketplace – owned by Kroger} a few weeks ago I found this amazing candlestick holder. It was in the clearance section, which I go straight towards at the beginning of each visit to the store. It was marked down to $3.95, PERFECT!!! So I snatched it up and knew exactly what I would do with it.
All I needed was some E6000 {Gorilla Glue would work best, but I didn’t have it on hand}. I glued the candlestick holder to the base of the wood cheese tray. Then I gave it all a fresh coat of black spray paint. It was the perfect fit for my Halloween Entry Way table display.
I ended up filling it with some white pumpkins and items that were originally on a big garland from many years ago, I cut it all off the garland and placed it in my Cloche. It makes the perfect addition to my display!
It can be used for decoration all year round, and best part is if I get sick of the color I can just spray paint it. Isn’t spray paint the best thing ever!?!
Hope you guys have a great week!
