Hi SNAP friends! Kimberly from A Night Owl here and I am just ecstatic to be a part of this amazing community! I’m going to be sharing fun holiday crafts that you can definitely pick up and replicate. I’m all about the simple – but effective – crafts and DIYs! And what I’m sharing today is no exception: these adorable Holiday Stenciled Burlap Bags!
Now who doesn’t LOVE burlap? I’m a big fan! I think it makes the ordinary something extraordinary and can add a sense of rustic charm and fabulous texture to any of your craft projects, decor or DIY projects! And I just love these little burlap bags. I purchased these at Michaels, but you could likely find them at any craft store or of course keep your eyes peeled for deals at Pick Your Plum. Treat bags are a such a versatile thing to have on hand; I always purchase in bulk when I find a great deal!
A great way to kick up your treat bags a knotch is to add a little paint! It’s best to use a good multi-surface paint, like Martha Stewart or DecoArt Americana Satins. For today’s project I grabbed some festive holiday stencils, stencil tape, a dauber and a simple white paint and got to work!
The instructions are easy. Simply slip a piece of cardboard into the burlap bag to prevent paint from bleeding onto the other side. Secure a stencil in place with stencil tape. Using a paint dauber, apply paint to the stencil area. Remove stencil and allow paint to dry.
The result are these adorable, simple but festive holiday stenciled burlap bags! Now that you’ve made them, there are a NUMBER of uses for them! Stuff them with treats for the kids at school or your co-workers. Add a name tag to each one and use them as placeholders for your holiday table. Or EVEN slip a gift card in one and use it as the most adorable gift card wrapping ever!
Well I really enjoyed sharing my first SNAP project with you today! I’m really looking forward to this year and getting to know all of you better! If you enjoyed this project and are looking for more along these lines, you might like our Painted Burlap Thanksgiving Place Setting:

Thanks Deanna! Wouldn’t these little bags be fun party favors?! xoxo Tauni
I think these would make good potpourri or sachet bags, also. The loose weave of the burlap would let the scent come through well.
Carol, I totally agree! xo
