Around Valentine’s Day my house goes from feminine to downright GIRLY. This year I decided to decorate with a soft peachy-pink, red and sparkles! Rather than scare my guy right out of the room, I created a Valentine print inspired by one of his favorite geeky movies – Guardians of the Galaxy.

I first saw this movie when it came out a couple of years ago (let’s be honest, I am a closet geek) and loved the way the soundtrack was central to the story. It’s sequel is scheduled for release in May 2017 and I can’t wait to hear “Awesome Mix Vol. 2.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Inspired Valentine

I created this Guardians of the Galaxy inspired Valentine print with the words to one of the songs on the soundtrack – Hooked on a Feeling – to match the color scheme I used in the rest of my Valentine’s decor. The result is a somewhat feminine look, with totally geek-oriented content. Win-win.

Since the print was first featured in my Valentine’s home decor, I have had dozens of inquiries about purchasing the print. Normally a print like this would run about $20, but I am offering it FREE for personal use. It’s a totally affordable piece of decor and looks perfect on a mantel.

To create this piece, I sent the jpg file over to Costco. I had a 12×18 matte finish print created for less than $5. I brought the print home and placed it in an Ikea Ribba frame that I had on hand, but they are less than $10. Deal and deal!
