Easter falls so early this year, I am simply not ready. Traveling holidays always throw me off a bit. Did you know that Easter follows the full moon and can fall as early as March 22 or as late as April 25? I guess I should just be glad it’s not next week!
I’ve been trying to come up with a little treat to put at each place setting on the table. Last year I used these adorable pillow box bunnies.
This year I am using the same cute tag, but it’s attached to these darling little boxes! I am excited to show you just how easy they are to make.
Somebunny Sweet Gift Tag + Easter Treat Box
Gable boxes are perfect for packaging gifts, because they’re so easy to dress up for any occasion. I typically keep several boxes in each size on hand in the studio.
To recreate this somebunny sweet gift tag and treat box you will need:
Somebunny Sweet Gift Tag Print + Cut File
Color Printer (I use the Cannon Pixma Pro.)
White Cardstock
Paper Trimmer or Scissors (I love this Fiskars trimmer.)
4″ Kraft Gable Box
Solid Scrapbook Paper
Patterned Scrapbook Paper
1/4″ Ribbon
Glue Dots
Hole Punch (I always use this We R Memory Keepers tool.)
Easter Candy
How to make somebunny sweet gift tag and Easter treat gift boxes:
- Download the print and cut file (see supply list above for download link).
- Open the PDF and send it to your home color printer or take it to a professional print shop. I printed these on my Canon Pixma Pro, on 80 lb. cardstock paper.
- Trim the individual tags to size using a paper trimmer and scissors. I have a Fiskars trimmer I adore, because it’s so easy to make a precise cut. Set tags aside for later.
- Measure your gable box so that you can cut your scrapbook paper to size. My boxes measured 2×4″.
- Cut a piece of plain scrapbook paper (I used yellow) to cover one size of the box using a paper trimmer and affix to the gable box with glue dots.
- Cut a piece of patterned scrapbook paper as an accent placed on top of the plain scrapbook paper. My accent piece was 1×4″. Adhere using glue dots.
- Run a piece of 1/4″ ribbon around the box and tie off to the side. I like to put a couple of glue dots under the ribbon to ensure it stays in place.
- Punch a hole ion the left side of the tag. I love my We R Memory Keepers Crop-a-Dile. It will punch through a whole stack at once! Add the tag and tie a bow in the ribbon.
- Fill boxes with a little treat and the project is complete.
