The other day I read that a candle is the millennial equivalent of the fruitcake. While I’d like to think candles surpass date and jelly filled bread any day of the week, I cannot deny that they’re an easy gift to give.
I never miss the big White Barn Candle Co (Bath and Body) candle sell every year about this time. I stock up on their three-wick candles. Last year I practically bought out the store, grabbing enough for each of my neighbors. I was a tad bit more conservative this year and stocked up on just enough to have on hand for last-minute gifting.
My favorite way to share the candles is in a small gift box, tied with twine and adorned with a fun gift tag. They look so pretty!
Print + Cut Christmas Candle Gift Tag
To recreate this gift, you will need the following:
Candle (if you don’t have a White Barn Candle Co nearby, you can grab one on Amazon)
5×5 Clear Plastic Favor Box
Christmas Candle Gift Tag Color or Christmas Candle Gift Tag Black and White
Paper Trimmer (this is the one I use)
Hole Punch (this is the one I use)
Baker’s Twine
Download and print the Christmas candle gift tag. The tag is available in color or black and white. For the purposes of this post, I’ve used the color file.
I print all of my gift tags out on my Canon Pixma Pro, using glossy cardstock. If you don’t have a color printer you can take the file over to your local print shop.
Using your paper trimmer, cut into individual gift tags.
I love this Fiskars paper trimmer. It folds in half and stores nicely in a closet (or under the craft table, which is where I keep mine)
Punch a hole in the top of the gift tag, large enough for baker’s twine.
Any hole punch will do, but I love my Crop-a-Dile for tasks like this. It has several different size holes and I can punch the whole stack at once – this tool will punch through anything, even metal.
Place the candle in a box or bag. Tie the tag to the outside of the package.
My favorite way to package the candles up is in these clear plastic boxes. They just look so pretty and festive.
