Oh my goodness. I’ve been overwhelmed by all of your love for the guest room with twin beds that I shared the other day. Thank you. Thank you! One of the questions I’ve received over and over is where I found the llama print hanging near the bed. I actually created it, and am sharing it with you today!
Would you believe that the inspiration for this room started with a special event I hosted with my friends at Cost Plus World Market to celebrate National Library Month clear back in April? Despite it being a rainy holiday weekend, we had a great crowd turn out to purchase books for donation to the library of the local elementary school. While there, I read several books in the Llama Llama series, by Anna Dewdney – they’re adorable. If you’re not familiar, take a glance. They’re a must have for any children’s library.
I bought three books (and I don’t even have little kids!) from the Llama Llama series before leaving the store and resolved to create a fun llama themed project before the end of summer.
Llama Bedroom Artwork
The little lama in my print is actually the inspiration for the whole bedroom. The bright, fun colors, combined with the silly, whimsical creature? Perfection.
While I am always willing to spend money on art, family photos, etc. I like to keep the price of “fun” prints like this down. I am fickle and like to change them out frequently. For items 11×14 and smaller, I use my Canon Pixma Pro at home. When I am looking for something larger, I send it to Costco Photo Center. This particular print is 16×20 and cost just under $10.
The frame is also inexpensive. I frame all of my prints in Ikea Ribba frames. They’re also under $10 and are perfect for DIY jobs like this one.

This prints best as an 8×10 or 16×20.
