I love the on-going relationship we have with many of our Snap Conference sponsors. Today I am sharing a fun Fourth of July DIY paper party cup idea using products from American Crafts and We R Memory Keepers, who always have a fun presence at the event.
This is not a paid post, but it features the We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile prominently. This is one of my favorite crafting tools. It can punch through nearly anything – from paper to thick chipboard, wood veneer and metal. It also works as an eyelet setter. If you don’t have a Crop-A-Dile yet, I’d recommend purchasing one.
Speaking of making purchases…I hate buying customized party goods that can only be used once. It’s so expensive! Having said that, I like a good theme. I’ve found it’s so easy to update basic white party goods, customizing them for multiple events.
I purchased most of the items I used to create these Fourth of July DIY paper party cups ages ago, but they’re all such great basics you can pick up almost anytime. I am sharing a few affiliate links, so that you can easily find them.
Supplies: Basic White Paper Cups | Crop-A-Dile | Ribbon | Eyelets | Scissors
Once you’ve gathered all of your supplies, this project comes together so quickly.
Take the paper cup and create holes about 1/4 of the way down from the top edge of the cup using a Crop-A-Dile or hole punch. I created 10 holes in my paper cups, you could do with less though.
Once your holes are ready, insert eyelets and compress with the Crop-A-Dile. This gives the cups a nice finished look.
After you’ve added the eyelets, simple thread some ribbon or string through the holes.
Once you’ve added your ribbon and tied a bow, you can add treats to the paper cup. I love cherries and so I filled my little cups to the brim and we’re using them for treats at a Fourth of July party.
The really great thing about this easy little project is that you can customize it for any event, just by changing out the color of the embellishments used.
