Getting back on track after a long break is hard…especially if you’re not a morning person. My beagle, Jersey, does her best to serve as a regular alarm clock, but I’m really struggling to get to bed on time and then get going at a reasonable hour in the morning lately.

I get teased all the time by friends who say they are “jealous” of my open, flexible schedule, but I tell you what…sometimes I yearn for the routine that having a full-time job, little kids and similar responsibilities that provide routine. There are moments that I consider jumping right back into life that revolved around work and then I remember just how hard I worked for the life I have. Rather than apply for every job available, I funnel my energies into helping family or friends with their responsibilities.

I made the magical morning unicorn printable gift tag I’m sharing today to go on a box of cereal I picked up for my niece, Iris. If you follow my Instagram stories or you’ve read about cousin camp, you might have met the little, curly blonde, who’s sassy as they come…She also hates mornings almost as much as I do!

Having a fun way to celebrate breakfast helps in the mornings. While I don’t necessarily advocate cold cereal every morning (or even most), it’s perfect for special occasions. I’ve made similar tags for St. Patrick’s Day and Halloween! It really doesn’t take a lot to make mornings a little more special…If you have a little one who has difficulty waking up, you’re celebrating a birthday or even just a return to school after a break, this magical morning unicorn printable gift tag is for you!

80 lb. Bright White Cardstock
Gold Scissors
2″ Circle Hole Punch
We R Memory Keepers Crop-a-Dile
Baker’s Twine
Unicorn Themed Cereal or Similar Gift

How to recreate this magical morning unicorn printable and gift idea:

Download the magical morning printable gift tag at the end of this post and save to your computer.
Open the printable and send it to your home color printer or take it to a print shop.
Note: I use a Canon Pixma Pro for all of my printable gift tags and art prints. I find that often it prints a cleaner, clearer image than if I took it to a professional printer. These printable gift tags will look best printed on bright white 80 lb. cardstock.
Trim the gift tags down. For a more finished look, punch them into circle tags using a two-inch circle punch.
Note: I use this Fiskars trimmer for all of my projects. It’s substantial enough to cut through multiple sheets, while remaining easy to use.
Punch your tags.
Note: I love the We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile. It will punch through literally anything, inclduing a whole stack of tags.
Personalize and sign the tag on the back side if needed.
Tie around a box of cereal or to a small gift using baker’s twine.

This project is such a simple way to help your little one (or your niece, as the case may be) to get a bit better start to their morning. It’s always easier to hop out of bed when you have something to look forward to!
