Outdoors/Yard {week 7}

How was your weekend? We had a pretty fun one. Abi got to stay up past her bedtime almost every night. Brad has built her a little fairy house from cardboard and wanted to paint it with her. It's been together and partially painted for ever, but this weekend they really got down to finishing it up. I love watching them work on a project together. Now on to this weeks challenge. Old Suit: New Bag {a tutorial}

Repurposing a suit coat is a fun way to create a one of a kind handbag. I chose to make a messenger bag as my laptop has been homeless for quite some time. If you are new to sewing, I suggest a tote bag. This is a much more straight forward design, yet has all the elements of the coat. I saw the bag on the left on the Today Show a while ago. Upcycle {week 5}

Wow. What a week last week guys. Thank you for all the emails and messages of concern for our family. We're all doing well. I woke up Monday morning with the plan to have a day out and about Boston with Abi. It was beautiful outside, a holiday and the marathon was going on so I thought there would be plenty of awesome things to do. How was your weekend? Do anything fun? I had these awesome ladies come visit me. I meet the redhead in 2nd grade and the brunette in Preschool and miraculously we stayed friends until now.
