Grandpa Gift for Father’s Day

We all know Father's Day is fast approaching, and there are tons of fun ideas of things you can craft for gifts.  But let's not forget Grandpa's too!  I have a quick and easy t shirt idea for you today... The shirt states : "My GRANDPA deserves a PAT on the back" and of course, it includes pats on the back from all the grandkids. First, let's talk about the lettering.  I used a cutting machine and heat transfer vinyl, which just irons on.  If you don't want to cut your own, you can use the file I created.  If you don't have a cutting machine, you can try printable iron-on sheets, ... read more

Homemade hair mask

All Natural Hair Mask Recipe

Hey my friends! It is McKenzie from Girl Loves Glam here and I am excited to share with you one of my favorite DIY hair secrets! I love using hair masks to help my hair get the extra nutrients it needs. There is nothing quite like the feeling of soft, healthy hair! I think it makes you feel like a totally new person. Although I am a beauty blogger and a cosmetologist, I rarely have time to get my hair done. My hair gets really dry and I get horribly ugly split ends that I cut off by myself, but it gets to the point when I just need something extra to give it the goodness I need. That is when I ... read more

DIY Nutcracker Wall Art

Hello friends.  Have you decked the halls yet for Christmas?  I am almost finished.  Today I am sharing my DIY Nutcracker Silhouette Wall Art with you.  I made these for my son since he begs every year for a new nutcracker.  I'm not a huge fan of the traditional nutcrackers, so this was my compromise.  I love how they turned out, and they have become a permanent part of our Christmas decor.  They are an easy project, you might even have some supplies already lying around the house. Supplies: - Canvas or Wood - Acrylic Paint (white & whatever color you want your silhouette to ... read more

I bet a lot of you are appreciating all of Missy's behind the scenes hard work right about now...Unfortunately, technology doesn't always cooperate as well as we might like it to and in the process of transferring a few things, I was locked out of the site last week! There are still some lingering issues, but let's hope there are no repeat delays?! Paint Results {Week 1} In any event, I didn't get a chance to announce last week's winner. Season 16 Week 1

I know it was a hard decision for her to  move on  and I am so grateful that she trusted me enough with "her baby" here to let me keep it going... By day I am a social media consultant and by night I am a blogger (and sometime crafter). Handmade Gifts {week 8}

Guess what guys?  Seven years ago today, 5 months to the day after laying eyes on each other for the first time, I married the most perfect guy on earth (You can try to argue it, but you'd still be wrong.  He really is the most perfect). *I know the pictures a little blurry, but I just love it so!* What!?!  Seven years!  We were just babies then it seems like. And there's no way it's been 7 years. To celebrate my love whisked me off to NYC. So while I'm eating pizza, buying cheap knock-offs, walking around the park, and exploring the MET for the next few days, you guys get to check ... read more

Outdoors/Yard {week 7}

How was your weekend?  We had a pretty fun one.  Abi got to stay up past her bedtime almost every night.  Brad has built her a little fairy house from cardboard and wanted to paint it with her.  It's been together and partially painted for ever, but this weekend they really got down to finishing it up.  I love watching them work on a project together. Now on to this weeks challenge.  Can you even believe we're down to four crafters?  This thing is going to be over before you know it and I'll be pretty bummed.  At least there will always be another season though, right? This ... read more

Old Suit: New Bag {a tutorial}

  Repurposing a suit coat is a fun way to create a one of a kind handbag.  I chose to make a messenger bag as my laptop has been homeless for quite some time.  If you are new to sewing, I suggest a tote bag.  This is a much more straight forward design, yet has all the elements of the coat. I saw the bag on the left on the Today Show a while ago.  I think it is gorgeous, and thought it would be a perfect Sunday bag for all my "stuff".  As I tend to be  cheap  frugal , I filed it away under project to someday make. There are many generous souls who have created ... read more

Upcycle {week 5}

Wow.  What a week last week guys.  Thank you for all the emails and messages of concern for our family.  We're all doing well.  I woke up Monday morning with the plan to have a day out and about Boston with Abi.  It was beautiful outside, a holiday and the marathon was going on so I thought there would be plenty of awesome things to do.  Thankfully, it was a bit of a slow morning so we never made it, thank goodness.  It was all very  surreal  to see our favorite and most frequented places under attack like that.  Very glad it's all over now, that's for sure.  We're still prying for ... read more
