Hello friends. Have you decked the halls yet for Christmas? I am almost finished. Today I am sharing my DIY Nutcracker Silhouette Wall Art with you. I made these for my son since he begs every year for a new nutcracker. I’m not a huge fan of the traditional nutcrackers, so this was my compromise. I love how they turned out, and they have become a permanent part of our Christmas decor. They are an easy project, you might even have some supplies already lying around the house.
Supplies:
– Canvas or Wood
– Acrylic Paint (white & whatever color you want your silhouette to be)
– Paint Brushes, 1 medium & 1 small
– A Nutcracker Silhouette (blown up, printed, and cut out)
– Scissors & a Pencil
I used similar images to these three Nutcracker 1, Nutcracker 2, Nutcracker 3 found by doing a google search for Nutcracker Silhouettes. I then saved the images and enlarged them in publisher to the size I needed. I recycled three long / narrow canvases so I needed my nutcrackers to be long which took me printing on to several pieces of paper then piecing it all together. For this project you can use old pallets, wood, canvas, or even foam core board.
Once you print your nutcracker to the size you need just cut it out. Paint your surface white, then when dry use a pencil to trace the nutcracker on to your surface. Then just paint in the nutcracker with you color of choice.
My boys absolutely love these guys, and I’m so glad I could accommodate my sons wish for having nutcracker decor. Best part is it coordinates with my decor. I hope you like them too. This is a great gift idea if you know someone who loves nutcrackers. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, wishing you all many blessings – joy – and lovely new memories with those you love!
