Recently my friend had surgery. Surgery is never fun, but surgery when you’re a mom? THE WORST. Our girl gang immediately scrambled to help. I am not sure how successful our efforts were, but if the barrage of text messages exchanged on the topic is any indication of love it’s safe to say my sweet friend is absolutely adored.
In the end we settled on over feeding her family for a week and running a carpool for preschool. I had the first “meal” in the rotation. I’d love to tell you I made something truly gourmet and I have a recipe to share today. Sadly all I could muster is a giant salad, a take and bake pizza and A LOT of cookies.
Midway through planning that “AMAZING” meal, I realized all that food meant dishes. Who wants a sink-full of dishes when they’re already down and out?! I grabbed a bunch of disposable dishes at the store and packaged them up with my friend’s dinner. Generally I don’t use paper products for every day use (doing my part for the environment and all), but if ever there was a case to make an exception it would be for a sick mama.

Get Well Skip the Dishes Gift Tag and Basket Project Directions:
- Download the print and cut file (see supply list above for download link).
- Open the PDF and send it to your home color printer or take it to a professional print shop. I printed these on my Canon Pixma Pro, on 80 lb. cardstock paper.
- Trim the individual cards to size using a paper trimmer. I have a Fiskars trimmer I adore, because it’s so easy to make a precise cut.
- Sign the cards with a pen. I love using these fine point, felt tip pens.
- Punch a hole in the top of the card. I love my We R Memory Keepers Crop-a-Dile. It will punch through a whole stack at once!
