How to Save Posts on Facebook for Later

Learn how easy it is to mark and save Facebook posts for later via @SnapConf It's like pinning from Facebook and save so much time!Typically when I hop onto Facebook, I am actually after something specific for work. I don’t often have time to leisurely scroll through my newsfeed…If something interesting catches my eye, I’ve found it’s far more effective to “save for later,” than stop to read the entire piece.

Today I am going to show you how simple it is to save Facebook posts for later!

Scrolling through your newsfeed, you come across something interesting. It might be a link, a place, a movie, music, etc. You can save those items on Facebook to check out later when you’ve got more time.

To save this for later, pop over to the “more” button.

To review saved items later, pop over to the left sidebar and find “APPS.” Depending on how many apps you’ve allowed access to your Facebook page, “saved” may show up under the app heading, or under the “more” arrow.

Only you can see the items you save unless you choose to share the posts with friends. You can share saved items to your personal page, groups or a fan page.

So helpful!

The process is actually fairly similar on your phone…In fact, it might be slightly more functional. Here’s a photo step-by-step…

1. Find a post you’d like to save.
2. Click on “more” in the upper right of the post and save.
3. Click on “more” in the lower left of your home page and click on saved.
4. View saved posts.
5. To share or archive your posts swipe with your finger.
6. View, share or archive saved post.

Will use this feature when scrolling through Facebook?

Thank you for this. It will be helpful to eke my mobile viewing from going off on a tangent.

Really helpful, thank you – I wasn’t aware of this function and was getting sidetracked regularly, or resorting to taking screenshots on my phone of posts I wanted to come back to (and never did!).

Hello Tauni: when I click on the check in the right hand I don’t have a option save. Can you tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Deb, it may be the post you’re trying to save. The save feature only shows up for links, movies, places etc. It’s not going to show up on a short two sentence status update. I think they figure you actually have time to browse and comment on those if you want…At least that’s my guess. Try it on another update and see if you can’t get it to work. xoxo Tauni

    Tauni,
I am rather proud today. I figured this out through trial and error. I do have a question about saving.
How come some do not have the save space when you go to more? Do you know why that occurs or what you can do to save the post?
    Thanks for sharing,

Karen, I think you might be trying to save a status update. There isn’t a way to save that. You can save links, places, etc. Good luck! xoxo Tauni

First, thank you for this…. I always see so many things I want to read but don’t have time and later are impossible to relocate. I am wondering how you delete from saved after you have read and are done or no longer wish to save AND do not want to archive. Thanks!! Crystall

    • Tauni says

      September 29, 2014 at 8:35 pm

Crystall, I don’t think there is a way to delete without an “archive.” Once it’s archived though, it doesn’t pop up in your saved file anymore…xoxo Tauni

That was a great help this weekend when I was away. I got to save some great looking recipes. I was liking things and then had to go back through my activity log to find what I likes.

    • Tauni says

Hi Barbara, there’s a little “x” in the top right of the saved post. You can just click it to delete. Enjoy! Tauni
