Olympic Confetti Gold Medals

The 2014 Winter Olympics are just around the corner, so I’m here to show you how make confetti gold medals.

These would be great for an Olympics themed party or lots of fun for a class treat. Or, if you’re like me, just make them for the kids to enjoy during the opening ceremonies. They are crazy easy to make!

olympic1Gather your supplies:

Gold wrapping paper
Confetti (or make your own with some red, white, & blue tissue paper)
Red, white, & blue ribbon
Glue stick
Circle cutter (not necessary, but makes the job easier if you have one)
Scissors

Double over a square piece of wrapping paper and cut a 4 inch circle using a circle cutter.olympic1Cut a 10 -12 inch piece of ribbon.

olympic1Secure ribbon with glue to the inside of one of the gold circles.

olympic1Dab glue around the edge of the circle, leaving a 2 inch opening at the top. Allow glue to dry.

Once dry, stuff with confetti and secure opening with glue.

olympic1

Allow glue to completely dry.

olympic1What a fun way to celebrate the Olympic Games! Go team USA!!

This is AWESOME!!! I am so gonna use them. We are doing a 3 month long Olympic event in Sunday School and after school is out we are going to have a field day as our closing ceremonies at which we are having a medal ceremony. I think I will fill them with candy. Fun and cute. Thanks for the idea.
