SNAPSister 2 Blog

We have been waiting not-so-patiently to tell you about a fantastic new program launching at SNAP this year: SNAP Secret Sister! We grew up loving pen pals and Secret Santa programs; I mean, who doesn’t love getting fun little surprises from new friends?! This new program brings together the best of both of those worlds by pairing you with another attendee you’ll get to know better and shower with three small gifts, revealing your identity on the last day!

So here are the SNAP Secret Sister juicy details:

Before SNAP

  • The program is totally voluntary; only sign up if this something that interests you!
  • Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be paired with another blogger attending SNAP and sent their blog and social media information.
  • Do some research about your secret sister. Follow her blog and social media and don’t be afraid to leave a comment or two. Everyone loves some extra attention!
  • Purchase or make three gifts to SNAP for your secret sister. Make sure each gift is valued at no more than $5 each and that each gift is wrapped and numbered on the bottom (ie: a 1 for the first gift to be given, a 2 for the second gift, etc.).
  • Make sure that you clearly label who your gifts are for with their name, blog, and Twitter and Instagram handles for all three days. Only include your name on the gift to be given on the last day! A good idea is to wrap your business card inside your third gift so your Secret Sister has all of your information.

At SNAP

  • Bring your three gifts to registration with you. There will be a separate table where we’ll collect all the gifts so you won’t have to worry about remembering them during the rest of your time at the conference.
  • Gifts will be distributed during specific hours at the conference. We really recommend picking up your gifts earlier in the day, if at all possible.
  • Watch the SNAP Twitter feed and the special Instagram handle @SNAPSisters throughout the conference. We’ll be posting pictures of the gifts that are waiting to be picked up.
  • Remember to keep your identity a secret until the last day of SNAP. That’s part of the fun!

Now, we know that this is a big chunk of information to take in, but we know that it’ll be a blast. To help you out while planning, here are a few pictures of some gift examples, plus a handy PDF you can print out with gift ideas and helpful hints to make the Secret Sister program work best for you.

Last thing: If you choose to sign up and participate, awesome! We’re excited to have you join us! Please make sure that you follow through and bring the gifts for your Secret Sister. It would be a total bummer if someone didn’t get the experience they expected!
