Each January the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) hosts a tradeshow for industry buyers. The show features the latest and greatest in craft products, typically before they show up in stores.
If you’re following me on Facebook or Instagram, you might have seen a preview of some of the fun items I came across last week at the 2016 show. Today I am sharing the 10 best NEW items I came across at the show this year and hosting a fun giveaway with my friend Jen, from Tatertots and Jello.
Craft and Hobby Association Show Top 10
1. We R Memory Keepers Alphabet Punch Board
We R Memory Keepers is known for creating and showcasing innovative tools. This year was no exception. The Alphabet Punch Board allows the user to punch out any letter in the alphabet with one tool – crazy.
The Alphabet Punch Board would be perfect for classroom bulletin boards, banners and a variety of other projects.
Check out the Punch Board in action…
The Alphabet Punch Board is not currently available in stores, but should show up in the next month or two. Suggested MSRP is $35.
2. My Mind’s Eye Party Fans
Paper party fans provide the perfect backdrop for any event – our DIY party fan post continues to be one of the most popular on the site.
The My Mind’s Eye party fans are absolutely gorgeous and they’ve come out with even more beautiful patterns, from basic colors to holiday-specific collections.

3. Style Me Up iLoom
Remember all those friendship bracelets you made as a kid? They’re the perfect starter craft for boys and girls alike.
With the iLoom connected to an iPad (any size), kids can learn to make and share a variety of friendship bracelet patterns. Kids can complete projects and earn points toward the purchase of new patterns or the patterns can be purchased in app. Patterns include both video and written instructions.

4. Sweet Sugarbelle Cookie Cutters
Gorgeous iced cookies are the darling of the internet right now and Sweet Sugarbelle’s creations play a staring role. Callye is known for repurposing basic shapes to create something totally different. For instance, did you know that a simple bell easily morphs into a fox? Neither did I 🙂
Callye spends hours, upon hours, upon hours working with cookies. Initially I thought, hmm…this may not before me, but she makes it seem so very easy!
Callye’s baking products aren’t currently available for purchase, but look for them to show up in the next couple of months.
5. Fiskars THICK Punches
The Fiskars THICK punches were my first wow of the show. Basic punches do not punch thicker material well. IF they punch, they snag, tear and pull, leaving a poor end result.
Fiskars is a leader in punches, trims, shears and scissors so I anticipated a good product. What I didn’t anticipate is how EASY it would be to punch through the thicker material. I punched through copper sheeting, cork and cardboard with the same ease I’d find using a regular punch on paper or cardstock. GREAT news!

6. Heidi Swapp Lightbox
Heidi always nails it. I can’t remember a year when she hasn’t come out with something new and entirely SPOT ON. There were several new reactive toner products released for use with the Minc, but the true highlight for me was the new Lightbox.
Lightboxes have been showing up in home interiors for the last couple of years, but purchasing an industrial lightbox was a little out of range. Heidi has created an affordable lightbox with loads of fun, interchangeable words and phrases perfect for the on trend home.

7. Little B DIY Music Boxes
The Little B booth was quite possibly the busiest booth at the CHA 2016 Mega Show.
Known for its scrapbooking materials, the company stepped out with an entirely new product – DIY Music Boxes.
The idea behind the music box is to select a base and then build upon it with music, figures and accessories. Technically you could paint the pieces, but I think the natural wood is so lovely.
The boxes are a little bit vintage, a little bit modern and a whole lot of beautiful. I can’t wait for the boxes to be stocked in stores.
The DIY music boxes are not currently available for purchase, but you can buy ready made boxes at full retail.
8. Chibitronics
Man. I am such a fan of women owned and operated businesses, especially when they’re the brain child of college students.
Chibi Lights are LED circuits on peel-and-stick stickers. When used with conductive tape, it’s easy to install lights on paper, wood and general crafts.
This product is not only a great way to bring a little light to your project, but they’re great for teaching kids how to build circuits and other electronic concepts.
Purchase Chibitronics
9. ARC Wood Paper, Envelopes and Tape
ARC wood products are perfect for crafting. The wood sheets, envelopes and tape are created with natural, uncoated wood. The products can be cut with scissors, punches and die-cut machines. They also run through inkjet printers, hold stamp ink, embossing and paint.
I think my favorite product was the tape.
I also loved the variety of wood, from birch to cherry each product is available in.

10. Thermoweb Deco Foil Fusible Spray Adhesive
Foil on fabric? YES PLEASE.
The Thermoweb foil spray is a permanent adhesive intended for use on fabric. Select a favorite stencil and spray on fabric. Iron your favorite foil on to create beautiful foiled designs.
