Years ago, a boyfriend and I almost celebrated our first Valentine’s Day with a delicious home cooked meal that I spent hours preparing. Earlier that day, I had planned on a romantic evening in with his favorite meal and a romantic comedy to end the evening- total cliche- I know. As we sat down for dinner, he received a call from his best friend asking him to help him with his Valentine’s Day for his wife. He shot up and ran out the door. I was left with an awesome dinner that I ate all alone. Yep- that is how our first Valentine’s Day went down. Worst. Date. Ever. However, I did end up marrying this guy- he has spent every year making up for that horrible Valentine’s Day. In his defense (insanity perhaps) he claims he didn’t think Valentine’s Day was a real holiday. He knows better now.
I am sure most people have a “worst date” experience that weren’t their fault. In order to help salvage any Valentine’s Day incidents like mine or even avoid any late night Wal-Mart runs, I designed this printable Valentine’s Day card that can be given to your significant other. Why don’t you add it to breakfast in bed for extra brownie points. I, for one, like funny cards as opposed to mushy gushy ones. This one is more of an inside joke because we like to talk to each other in weird accents. I would love to know of any quirks you and your love have- only to make me feel less weird! Or better yet, shall we share “worst date” stories??
