Facebook Security: Where You’re Logged In?

Facebook is a powerful tool for connecting with friends, family and even at times strangers, but did you know that 600,000 Facebook accounts are hacked every day?! While that’s a relatively small percentage of overall users, odds are, it could happen to you.

How to prevent being hacked on Facebook by regularly checking the Where You're Logged in security feature via @snapconf

One of the best ways you can prevent a hack or possibly even catch a stalker is to regularly check the Facebook security feature “Where You’re Logged In.”

Unfamiliar? Let me show you how to access this feature.

In the upper right hand corner of your account use the drop down menu and click on settings.

In the upper left had corner of your account select security.

Under the security settings drop all the way to the bottom to Where You’re Logged In and click edit.

The results show all of the places your Facebook account is currently logged and active.

Facebook Security Where You're Logged In

You can see I’ve been active in Orem (while at American Crafts) – oops! Need to clear that connection.

The surprise to me when I first activated this security feature? I was logged in on a mobile account in Seattle, Washington last June. Here’s the thing. I haven’t been to Washington this year. Creepy!

Fortunately, with each login location you can “end all activity.”

What are you doing to ensure your Facebook account is safe?

You say … Fortunately, with each login location you can “end all activity.” However, there is no “end all activity” option on my account. There is no option to do anything at all in regards to the intruder.

Jane, I am sorry. I am not sure why FB wouldn’t provide you the option to end activity, as I’ve shown in the screen shots throughout my post. If you’re having trouble with an intruder, change your password and create a help ticket with Facebook immediately. Good luck! Tauni

Heather, If your account has been hacked and the password has been changed, you need to contact Facebook directly. There is no simple work around available. Best of luck! Tauni
