DIY Washi Tape Snack Bags

Summer means backyard barbecues and picnics, and if you’re the hostess, it’s nice to have some little snacks sitting out to munch on during the evening.

These washi tape embellished paper bags are perfect for holding all sorts of fun snacks…peanuts (like I’ve used), popcorn, chips, pretzels, cookies and candy are other yummy ideas.

Okay, so I have to admit that I’m a little obsessed with washi tape right now. I love it because it has so many fun uses, including dressing up utensils and gift sacks.

All you need for this fun idea is some washi tape, and paper bags (white or brown). Clothespins and an Xacto knife are optional. There are many online stores and Etsy shops that sell washi tape, but recently Target and craft stores have started selling it as well.

You simply wrap your washi tape around your paper bag using whatever colors you wish. I chose colors that matched my party decor. Continue wrapping the tape in stripes about half way up the bag.

Open your bag and roll down to your highest stripe. Fill with snacks and set out for your guests to enjoy.

To dress up your bag even more, you can add a printable party circle and attach it with a clothespin decorated with washi tape.

Attach washi tape to the clothespin and use an Xacto knife to trim around the edges.

Great idea to dress up the bags. I like the utensils too. This is a great cheap way to change them up for any holiday or party.

Aren’t they adorable Katie? I love the idea and she may have finally been sold on the washi tape (not gonna lie I have been a hold out because sometimes I just hate anything trendy).

I totally love washi. I just ordered some on Etsy, but now I will be going to Target to look for some. I can’t wait to decorate my business cards and photography packaging with this tape! Thanks for the information!
