Red Baron Toy Plane Tutorial

I picked up an old wooden toy plane at a  thrift  store. It was $2. I walked around the store carrying it the entire time, debating on  whether  to buy it or not. I decided not to, and put it back. A day or two later, I went back for it. Not surprisingly it was still there. I mean, it was missing the wheels and it's rudder. The  propeller  was lose and had some permanent marker on it. And the whole thing was ... read more

Elegant {week 7}

How was your Valentines weekend?  It's become a sort of tradition for my husband and I to go out bowling for our Valentines date.  Our  bowling alley of choice is in a  restaurant  so there's really good food. And the seating for each lane is a leather sectional sofa.  So when ever it was my husbands turn I just sat back and enjoyed my Memphis burger, onion rings and pepsi. We bowled four rounds and I won half.  Don't mention it to my husband.  He's super  competitive  so he's a little bitter still :) So here are the projects for week 7, the Elegant projects.  The poll will be ... read more

Red {week 6}

Well, I meet Nemo this weekend.  I went to bed thinking it was all a big hype.  It didn't really seem like that big of a storm.  But when I woke up I was blown away.  This is looking out the window of our 2nd story window down onto my car. I swear there is a car in there.  See...   But that was about the worst that we were hit with.  It took about an hour for 2 of us to dig out, then my husband spent the next 5 hours helping our neighbors.  The complex had a snow plow working non stop through the night Friday. It was joined by two front end loaders and a little bobcat about 8am ... read more

So, how was your weekend?  Brad, Abi and I went on a little road trip.  The vast majority of our family lives in Utah, California & Washington.  They're all out west.  I do however have a sister in North Carolina and Brad has a brother in Baltimore.  But that brother and his family are moving back to Utah next week :(.  So we decided to take a quick trip down for the weekend to visit before they took off and left us almost on our own.  Abi and her cousin Hannah are the only girl cousins on that side of the family and they had a blast together. And now I'm home and get to show you ... read more

*Tutorial by  Autumn @  It’s Always Autumn  for her win of the Stash Busting challenge of season 13* Hi everyone! I'm Autumn, from It's Always Autumn, here to share a tutorial for the pretty packaging boxes made from scrapbook paper. These boxes come together really quickly but look tidy and professional, making them the perfect way to dress up your tasty treats. Note: I recommend lining all of the boxes with wax paper or additional cupcake liners before adding your treats so you don't end up with grease spots on your boxes. When using the cookie bag, I place cookies in a sandwich bag ... read more

Vintage Ornament Holiday Wreath

Hi there SNAPers!! I'm Jen from Tatertots & Jello. Can you believe it's December already?? Are you ready for the most festive season of the year? I love this time of year. One of the things I love most about Christmas is the sense of history from seasons past. Do you have a collection that you love to display at Christmas? I bought some vintage Christmas ornaments about 10 years ago. They are scratched up with wear but beautiful to me. I love to think of all of the Christmases these ornaments have seen, the memories they have made in all of those years. I have put them on my tree over ... read more

Are you spooked by Facebook changes?

What's creepier skeleton wreaths and spooky Halloween decor or Facebook changes? Well, I updated my Facebook profile to the new Facebook Timeline. I love it. I think. *Update. You will only be able to see Timeline on my page if you have already switched over yourself... Here's a few reasons I think you might like it too... The layout is gorgeous. Really. The images are large (isn't my dog a cutie?) and everything is laid out on a strong grid, which translates really well from web to mobile device. With all this real estate the design options are endless. How fun is this profile? AND, there ... read more

Washcloth Hand Puppets

Puppets for bathtime! Take your older washcloths that are still usable and make them into something great! So far the favorite seems to be the shark. I was trying to figure out a crab, but I think it would need to be more of a glove than the mitten puppet. Supplies: -washcloths or hand towels -2-3" of ribbon -detail fabrics for fins (I used satin for the green fin on the alligator, hot pink spandex for the fish) -fabric marker or buttons for eyes -scissors -thread/ sewing machine/ pins **To make these even easier, you could use fleece, felt, or knit for the fins/ arms. The ... read more
