Hi friends! Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and I don’t know about you but I love putting some extra love into something and giving a gift to my Mom that I made with my own two hands. Don’t worry I get her other good stuff too! These Chocolate Covered Caramel Wafers are the perfect treat to give any Mom.
Ingredients:
- Dutch Caramel filled Wafers {you can find these at any Cost Plus World Market store}
- Melting Chocolate
- Sea Salt {optional}
You will also need a couple cookie trays lined with wax paper.
Now these caramel filled wafers are so good on their own already, but to make them extra special you need to dip them in chocolate!
Prepare your chocolate melts first according to package instructions. Once the chocolate is ready you are set to go. This is super easy, ready? Take a wafer and dip it in chocolate. You can either dip half of the wafer or you can cover it completely. Once your wafer has it’s chocolate coating place it on your wax paper lined cookie trays. Leave them on the trays so the chocolate can harden. If you want, you can give each wafer a light sprinkle of sea salt on the chocolate before it hardens. That is optional. If you need to rush the process a bit you can place them in the fridge for a few minutes.
To package these sweet treats up you will need some cute mason jars. Fill your jars, then add one of these cute Mother’s Day Printable Tags I have over on my blog right now. Add some bakers twine and a bit of cute fabric to match and you’ve got a simple handmade gift for the ones you love most.
