1.Tell us a little about you and your blog.
When I was expecting in 2010 I was very sure that I was having a girl. We planned on naming her Lucy, which was my nickname as a child. I opened my Etsy shop before we found out the gender of the baby (which again, I was SURE was a girl), and I thought “Lucy Baby Designs” was an adorable name for said shop. I found out a month later I was not in fact having a Lucy, but a Noah. Well, the name stuck, and I still really like it. The summer of 2011 was a big summer for me. We found out that our then 7 month old (Noah) had suffered a fetal stroke and was going to need Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy, and would face many obstacles in his life. To cope with my grief I poured myself into making crafty things. At the same time all that was going on I found out about this crazy new website called Pinterest- have you heard of it? I started my blog so I could have a way to upload my things to Pinterest, not expecting to really do much with it. A year later I am enjoying growing my blog, and trying new fun things! I am surprised that I am enjoying the writting part of it just as much as the crafting.
2.How and when did you start crafting?
I have been crafting FOREVER! I mean really, when I was growing up my mom was part of a craft club that would meet once a month, drink to much wine, and make something fun. Mom would come home and teach us (my sister and I) how to make it, and we would spend the next month perfecting it! I have always been art minded and color obsessed. When I was a child I was known to organize the shirts at stores in rainbow order while my mom shopped.
3.How often do you craft?
Everyday. I am a stay-home-mom, so I am constantly working on something.
4.Where do you get your inspiration?
Everywhere! My kids, pinterest, tv, music, other blogs, art shows, my friends and family, the list goes on and on.
5.What is your favorite medium to work in?
Gosh, that is a tough one. I would have to say paint and paper. I am no good at crochet, knitting, or needlepoint. Anything that requires everything to be exact is too hard for me. I like a little wiggle room!
6.What is your guilty pleasure?
Music. Silly music that you don’t admit to anyone to listening to, accept all of your Facebook friends because Spotify shares your playlists! I may or may not have recently listened to New Kids On The Block while working on a project…
7.What makes you smile?
My boys-when they’re not driving me crazy! And my husband. I have a really wonderful family.
8.What is your favorite thing to do (other than crafting)?
Spend time with said family and my mom & siblings. We are really close!
