Today marks a double-dose of awesome. Not only did you get to learn more about Hayley, our Season 16 winner, but today I get to share a bit more about Jessica, from Cutesy Crafts. Jessica took second place in this past season’s competition. What’s truly remarkable though is that she placed in the topEVERY challenge we hosted. In a competition where competitors can be on top one week and out the next, consistency like that is pretty awesome.
Jessica has shared some pretty amazing crafts with us over the course of the season. Here’s a quick peak at some of the projects she shared…
Interview with Jessica, Cutesy Crafts
1. Tell us a little about you and your blog.
I am a stay-at-home mom to three adorable kids. When I’m not taking care of them, I find joy in thinking of new things to create. I started my blog as as a way to share the templates, and things that I was making with the internet world. Most of my blog is full of things that I create for my kids and my home.
2. How and when did you start crafting?
I have always loved to craft. I really started to get into it when I became a stay-at-home mom and suddenly had a lot of time on my hands. A few years ago, I made one of those felt playhouses that you put over the table and had a TON of felt leftover. I started thinking of ways to use it, and my crafting took off from there.
3. How often do you craft?
Too often… but really, I’m always working on something. I love it!
4. Where do you get your inspiration?
Most of the crafts I make are for my kids, so I would say that my inspiration comes from them. A lot of my inspiration also comes from being thrifty (cheap). Why pay a lot of money for something when you can figure out how to make it yourself?
5. What is your favorite medium to work in?
Felt. Haha. It all goes back to the felt playhouse!
6. What is your guilty pleasure?
7. What makes you smile?
My kids and my husband… oh, and chocolate. 🙂
8. What is your favorite thing to do (other than crafting)?
If I’m not taking care of kids or crafting, I like to nerd out with genealogy. I love making new discoveries about my ancestors and looking through old family photos.
Jessica is definitely creative, especially with felt. Since she’s “bragged” about her felting skills, I thought I would share a few of my favorite Cutesy Craft felt projects…
