DIY Sparkle Food Picks
Happy Holidays SNAP! friends! I’m Jessica from Pen N’ Paper Flowers and I’m so happy to be here today! We are 2 days away from Christmas and you know what that means!? We’ll soon find ourselves crawling out from underneath piles of wrapping paper…tangled in half-lit tree lights and facing the daunting task of making returns; only to be whisked right into a New Year’s Eve celebration one week later!
I’m here to lighten the load by sharing something so simple it won’t matter how deep you are buried in the holiday aftermath – this party idea requires minimal effort and energy!
All you’ll need to do is print off the cute FREE printables I’ve made for you and find a small cozy corner somewhere in your home to get crafty. It’ll take minutes to whip up these adorable food picks…making ANYTHING you serve on New Year’s Eve festive and fabulous!
Here’s what you’ll need : FREE Printable Happy New Year Food Picks, scissors, double stick tape (or hot glue gun), toothpicks, glitter (one color or as many as your little heart desires), paintbrush and Elmer’s glue.
Print your free tags onto white card stock and trim.
Using your paintbrush add a small amount of glue to the v-tip of your trimmed tag.
Dip the v-tip of the tag right into the container of glitter. (One of the many reasons I love these skinny little tags – they fit easily into small glitter containers, like these from Michael’s Recollections, without making a mess). Cute, right? Shake off excess glitter by giving each little tag a little flick with your finger. Attach a toothpick by adding a piece of double-stick tape to the back of the opposite end of the tag. Wrap end around the toothpick and pinch to ensure it’s secure. (or use hot glue if you prefer).
Stick the tags into any food item you are serving and enjoy ringing in the New Year! These seriously make pigs-in-a-blanket look glamourous! *wink* I hope you are inspired to try out these fun little food toppers to add a little sparkle and shine to your New Year’s Eve celebrations! I’ve enjoyed being here with you today and sharing my very first post as a SNAP! Contributor. I hope you enjoyed it and I look forward to seeing you all again soon…in 2014!
